There’s nothing quite like fall camping in the Finger Lakes. As summer fades, the hills turn brilliant shades of red, orange, and gold, creating a beautiful backdrop for a final camping getaway before winter.
Cooler temperatures make it a wonderful time to explore the outdoors, while crisp evenings are made for campfires, warm drinks, and a few extra s’mores. At Sugar Creek Glen Campground, registered camping guests can enjoy the sound of Sugar Creek and the campground’s private waterfalls as part of their stay. Our waterfalls are a special part of the camping experience and are reserved for registered camping guests rather than public day-use or hiking access.
Fall also brings a quieter pace to the campground—more time to relax, reconnect with family and friends, and enjoy those last camping days of the year.
And for 2026, we’re giving you three great reasons to squeeze in one more trip to the Glen.
Our final three weekends of the season feature Veterans Weekend, Thanksgiving Weekend, and Halloween Weekend, each with its own way to celebrate fall at Sugar Creek Glen. You can also see our Activities & Theme Weekends for more about what’s happening around the campground.
Veterans Weekend: September 25–27
We’re kicking off our final three weekends with a special celebration honoring the men and women who have served our country.
Veterans Weekend at Sugar Creek Glen is an opportunity to come together as a camping community, show our appreciation, and enjoy a relaxing September weekend in the Finger Lakes.
Weekend activities include veterans ceremonies and story sharing, providing an opportunity to recognize those who have served and hear some of their experiences.
We’ll also gather for a chicken BBQ potluck. Bring a favorite side dish or dessert to share and enjoy a meal with friends, neighbors, and fellow campers. Live music will add to the evening’s festivities.
Veterans Weekend also includes a 25% discount, and we currently have three cabins available for guests who would like a fall getaway without bringing an RV or tent.
Availability is limited, so make your plans soon if you’d like to join us.
Thanksgiving Weekend: October 2–4
Good food, good company, crisp autumn weather, and fall colors—Thanksgiving Weekend at the Glen is about enjoying the simple things that make camping together so special.
Spend the weekend with family and campground friends, enjoy the changing leaves, and settle in around the campfire as another camping season begins winding down.
For some campers, Thanksgiving Weekend at Sugar Creek Glen has become an annual tradition. For others, 2026 may be the first time joining us.
Either way, we’d love to have you here as we celebrate fall, friendship, and another wonderful season at the Glen.
Halloween Weekend: October 9–11
Get the costumes and decorations ready—Halloween Weekend is the grand finale of our 2026 camping season!
We’ll close out the year with Halloween fun for kids, adults, and campers of all ages.
Get creative with pumpkin painting, dress up for our costume contest, and transform your campsite for our site-decorating contest. And, of course, Halloween at the campground wouldn’t be complete without trick-or-treating, so remember to bring treats for our little ghosts, witches, superheroes, and monsters.
The celebration continues with DJ PTB and a 360° photo booth, giving everyone a chance to capture a few memories from our final weekend together.
Whether you go all-out decorating your campsite or simply come to enjoy the festivities, Halloween Weekend is a fun way to send off another camping season at Sugar Creek Glen.
One Last Fall Camping Getaway in the Finger Lakes
It’s hard to believe another camping season is almost behind us.
Veterans Weekend, Thanksgiving Weekend, and Halloween Weekend are the final three weekends of Sugar Creek Glen Campground’s 2026 season, and we’d love to spend them with you.
Come experience fall in the Finger Lakes. Enjoy the changing colors, listen to Sugar Creek, visit the private waterfalls during your stay, breathe in the crisp autumn air, and spend a little more time around the campfire with the people who matter most.
Three weekends. Three special celebrations. One last chance to camp at the Glen in 2026.
